Stichting Academisch Erfgoed
In 1997, the four classic universities (Amsterdam, Groningen, Leiden and Utrecht) and the Delft University of Technology united themselves in the Stichting Academisch Erfgoed (Academic Heritage Foundation) . With the support of the government, the foundation concentrates on catching up with the great backlog of conservation work and on making the Dutch academic heritage more accessible to the public and more widely known.
At the beginning of 2005, the foundation’s ‘National Project Academic Educational Wall Charts’ was rounded off. In the course of that project, which was subsidized by the Mondriaan Foundation, an inventory was made of the academic educational charts kept at the Dutch universities; many of them were conserved and digitized.
